rear deraillieur hanger - kaputt
« on: 17 November, 2019, 01:05:28 pm »
rear derailluer hanger decided to fall apart today while I was changing from the turbo wheel to the outdoor wheel. May explain why it had looked a bit flexy last few times I changed it and the imprecise shifting recently.

The bike is a giant SCR 3.0, from around 2005-'06.  This has come up as pre-'11 on a search.  Anyone know if it will fit the SCR as well, as it's not specifically named?

this one (unlike the one you have linked to)

is indicated as fitting SCR 2006-2008 models. It should be obvious which of these two is more likely to be the correct one, but there are so many that it does not preclude the possibility that there yet another type that is only very slightly different from either.... DAMHIK

Where did you find that one as fitting SCR? Ive seen it listed against OCR and TCR.

Thanks, it does look like that one, different sites seem to list different compatibilities, so likely worth a punt.

Need to get the remnants of the old one off the bike first, and put the two bits together

BETD and Gearmechhanger are the two best sites I've used to identify hangers.

Usually you can get them on eBay for lots less by buying the cast version.

In the meantime you may be able to get away with an emergency hanger until you can find the right one.

I found the right one (as per Brucey's pic) with a multibuy discount on e-bay eventually. Bought two for about £35, which of course means that I'll never need the one I now have spare in the toolbox.
