I read somewhere today (Grauniad? Indy?) that the Chief Tw*t is going to have to find close to one USD billion (Paging Dr. Evil, paging Dr. Evil) a year in interest payments on the debt incurred.  I can't find the damned article now, but if it's true it makes one wonder quite how much of a genius he is.

Ah, right.  A business genius.  Like Gerald Ratner.

I'm seeing rumours that one of the sacked employees suspended Elon's account on their way out.  Probably isn't true, but would be funny.
Only one?
I suppose it might not be a great look on a reference.

The blue tick thing is proving useful to Musk, in that anyone famous talking about leaving is met with a load of “you’re really objecting to paying $8”. I’d have suggested pay to tweet, but I’m not a business genius.

The way I see the "pay to tweet" move is to introduce cancel culture in the guise of "sound business practice".

If enough big twatters pull out Musk's business model is kaput.

Someone cleverer than me has pointed out that two of Twitter's large advertisers are GM and Volkswagen, who have a strong incentive to help Twitter to implode by pulling out.  On the basis that, due to Elon's business genius, the financial positive void coefficient will very likely drag Tesla down with it.

There’s a screen grab of a suspended @eIonmusk account with a blue tick doing the rounds but if you look closely, the l is in fact an I

I suppose the great thing about people being so hopeless with computers that they think screenshots are proof of anything is that none of them know how to fake screenshots properly...

It’s not a fake screen grab, it’s a fake account - and that is why it was suspended.

If some of the staff there didn't set a dead man's switch the moment the idea of layoffs were announced, I will be severely disappointed.

Twitter is now unusable.

Not because of Musk, but because Musk is all anyone is talking about.

SM platforms come and go. Life went on pre-SM too.

I'm going to nominate researcher,  Zdeněk Lajbner, for this

No you don't, you lying arse. Cats need proteins that aren't available in a vegan diet, and struggle to digest carbohydrates.

If you know any cats fed on vegan catfood, those cats are almost certainly 'supplementing' their diet.

I'm sure you could devise a non-meat diet for an obligate carnivore, though I'm not sure you should, and it would be complicated, and besides, cats are never good test subjects for dietary interventions. Ours are mostly turning their nose up at the kidney-care food* we're presenting them with, so good luck with a vegan diet.

*failing kidneys, of course, being a corollary of a life-long high protein diet. Take that low carb.

On the other hand, cats are contrary fuckers (it's one of their biggest charms) and an alarming number of them never read the being-a-cat manual, so I can believe there might be one or two out there happily getting by on a vegan diet.  I'm also pretty sure that any attempt to convert J Random Cat to veganism is going to be hilariously unsuccessful.
