71 yr old man. Died at the scene. R.I.P.

'Unusual three wheel bike'
VELOMANCER

Well that's the more blunt way of putting it but as usual he's dead right.

Indeed, RIP.

Not a road I will ever be spotted on and there is an argument for sorting out bicycle traffic on fast and busy A roads, either by segregated lanes or by providing well signposted alternative routes

Aye, sad.

Bad news however you look at it.

Much like where I live, there may be routes that cannot help but use parts of busy a roads for access.

Sad news. RIP.

I'm fairly local to this. The East side of Amesbury is one of those locations... A hobson's choice between a multi mile detour, a private farm track, a muddy bridle path or a national speed limit dual carriageway.

Very sad.

The police describe the bike but don't say a word to describe the lorry or the driver. The victim was apparently well known locally, a medical condition meant he used a trike.

Not entirely true.  I knew the rider.  He was no old codger going to the allotment on his Pashley, nor was he one for laying down on the job, he was a long time tricyclist of the truly upright English fashion who used a trike out of preference, the medical condition coming later in life.

Ah, thank you.

I hope police are making a note that several locals have said they often saw him. Even down to describing his clothes.
