There were loads of these littering the house, sheds etc. when I was a child.  AIUI you can do bottle caps with the blade in the closed position and open Tim's with the blade deployed.  Handy little gizmo.

I used to have a few of those can-openers from compo rations from the CCF at school (70s).  I bought a couple a few years ago for camping but they were no where near as good as I remember the "genuine" ones being, so I replaced it with a "Nogent Super Kim" (no relation to our Kim, I understand)

Unfortunately ,no. It's no where near as bulky as a "regular" tin opener but a lot more bulky than the compo ration type.  It has some weight to it too - 89g according to my scales.

We had one of those when I lived on a boat. No idea where it came from. That would be the very early 80s.
