Tony Bell (1958-2023)
« on: 08 August, 2023, 07:31:37 pm »
Formerly OTP, I believe, or if not, certainly its predecessor. AKA "Belly". Wrote for Cycling Weekly.

I never met him, but we made friends on FB a few years back and "clicked" very well - clearly of very similar political persuasions. Apparently he died in early July.

Tony had a degree in politics and wrote about matters more serious than cycling.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tony_Bell refers.

Wikipedia appears not to have caught up with this news.  Do I recall Bell mentioning his alcohol-related problems and attempts to overcome them?  But whatever, it's a a shame he died at a relatively young age.  From what I read of his postings, he seemed to be an engaging person.

Quite possibly. There's a Wikipedia entry for his brother, who died much younger.
