Schadenfreude
« on: 13 December, 2014, 07:49:29 am »
Yesterday I watched a bloke hop nippily over the low chain round a car park, sidestep round a couple of startled pedestrians, skip across a tree pit and over the kerb onto the zebra crossing I was stopped for and measure his length on the road.

:D

Brightened up my whole day.
I've dusted off all those old bottles and set them up straight

I can't quite work out the last bit. Did you measure his length on the road or did he?

Isn't Schadenfreude being happy at someone's misfortune?

I think 'measure his length' means he fell over.

Gnat-brained little twat doing wheelies on his moped up & down the road. I do wish he go over backwards and break his neck.

Hee hee hee! One of the aforesaid noisy little gits finally *did* go over backwards on his wheelie. His neck seems OK, but he broke a Great Big Bit off his motorbike.  His mummy will not be pleased. :D :D :D

We need a schadenfreude thread.

FWIW my Aged Parents live on Queens Road, Hendon.

They might be a little safer with this chap off the road.

Maybe they can't bring themselves to do this if they have not yet proven ownership.
It could be a pricy error if the car had a legitimate owner...

I believe there is also precedent for confiscating said vehicle and adding certain accessories, such as sirens and blue lights, suitably concealed of course.

That would seem much less wasteful.

The local plod back in the US where I grew up seized a Lamborghini from a drug dealer and turned it into a police vehicle.  But not a stealth vehicle.  Such cars aren't common in that part of the world and would always draw attention, so played up on that.  It had very visible lights, police logo, and something along the lines of "seized from a drug dealer" emblazoned on either side.  That was always the car they used when they did school visit to talk to kids about drugz.

Couldn't they have it as the raffle prize at the annual policemen's ball?  I'm sure that would help sell a few more tickets.
Why should anybody steal a watch when they can steal a bicycle?

When I came off my bike on oil/diesel on a YACF ride in January 2012, and did painful stuff to my right hip and shoulder, I went to work afterwards and bashed my sore shoulder and made a sort of long squeak of agony that made a colleague laugh, and laugh, and laugh.  My, how she laughed.  As I locked myself in the store cupboard so nobody could see me crying in pain.

And lo it came to pass that on Facebook today I see she hath broken her ankle whilst at work.  And it's Boxing Day.

Oh dear.   8)

Are you going to have to lock yourself in the cupboard so no-one else can hear you laughing?
