Title: Anyone with EE find that emails are no longer 'pushed' to their mobile?
Post by: Jurek on 30 November, 2015, 11:29:37 am
As above really.
Bit of a first world problem, but as of not that long ago my iPhone 5s stopped pinging whenever an email arrived.
All the settings are arranged so that it should ping when the phone is locked, to announce email arrival, but it doesn't.
I have to unlock the phone, start the Mail app and then within a few seconds it'll ping (assuming there's a new email).
The office Young Person has a similar phone with EE as the service provider and he says his phone has displayed the same behaviour, and doesn't know why.

Anyone else found this with EE?

It is most likely to be related to the massive issue with EE which has been ongoing for 3 weeks.

Basically, they pushed a SIM update that added T-Mobile to the forbidden operators list on the SIM. Some people have't had any issues while other have seen devices drop off the network never to reconnect! Because the forbidden operators list also forbids roaming SIMs to attach to the network, they are really screwed & are doing loads of funky wizardry behind the scenes to get those SIMs back online.

No-one really seems to know why some SIMs are affected & not others but there seems to be a pattern emerging that links to certain APNs.

Ah! Thanks.
I can stop messing with the settings on the phone, then.
