Thanks, Simeon.  How long has Will's Cafe been there?  I go to Grasmere every year and I've never noticed it!  Is it usually obscured by Japanese tourists?

Jealous, jealous, jealous.  I may well pop up to join you one day on one of your rides, if you'd be happy for a soft Londoner to come along.  I really enjoyed the small stretches of off road I did a few years back in the Lakes.  It would be good to ride with people who actually know where they are going.

My offroading pal that gave me the mad route to Glen Affric (NOT the sensible track from the car park, another one) whereon I nearly lost my bike and myself in August, joined me up to the RSF as a birthday present last year.  I have thought about contacting the Home Counties lot.  Their next meet looks like it will be the Chilterns as they are meeting in Wendover.  Mmmmmm.

Good stuff, Simeon.  Is that track out of Clapham the one you get to through the tunnel?  I tried it last year but was on a road bike and ended up coming ack down and rejoining the road......to eventually end up in the excellent Pen-y-Ghent cafe!

I like the look of that ride.  Surfaces generally rather better than a lot of what you go over. ;D
