Starter Challenge:  Colours in nature.

Dammit, I took the perfect photo for that two days ago.  There was a particularly bright (double, as it happens) rainbow and I was trying to make sense of why there was a green band inside the blue one, which wasn't a feature of rainbows that I'd noticed before.

Needless to say, it wasn't present in the recorded image.  I assume that this was due to my wonky cone cells doing the thing that causes people with non-wonky cone cells to perceive a purple band inside the blue, and getting it hilariously wrong.

Any limit to entries? I was walking along this evening, it occurred to me that autumn colours at night had an interesting quality, pixel phone made a decent fist out of it

Almost looks like there's a massive storm on the way...

Any limit to entries? ...

I guess no limit as such - probably one selected of a particular image - subject...

My effort from today's ride around Wolvercote/Oxford...

I realise challenge 1 'colours in nature' ('any colours natural or not... in nature' ) can cover a few options.   ;)  Some of these were supposed to be about certain 'tension' of manmade colour in/wrt natural colour, or something like that...  ;D

I think it is a good idea, I just haven't been out taking photos...
It is simpler than it looks.

Just wondering if perhaps the right 'tweak' might make it more doable/ interesting in general.

Autumn, yes. Colours? You'll have to look closely.

I've dusted off all those old bottles and set them up straight

Nice.

I was passing a pile of leaf fall a couple of days back and was drawn by the wonderful contrast of colours and variety of shapes.  I took a picture to use as wallpaper on my PC.

As I am utterly shite at sorting out posting pics here I apologise for baiting the hook so to speak but if anybody would like to post it for me I can send it to you.

Apologies for my lack of photo posting skills.

Polar Bear's autumn leaves picture.

@slope, how did you do the clickable link to Flickr? I normally just use Dropbox links here, but your method allows a link to a larger version, which is obviously useful in a photo thread. Edit - got it, just use the full BBcode link. I tried that in preview and couldn't make it work. Should have just gone ahead and posted!

The detail is worth seeing

Begging the pardon of andyoxen, this being mostly his photo:

Because I love Chompsky's colouring, and he is one of nature's creatures, but he never goes outdoors.

Nice.  For the main challenge, I reckon we can probably say any photos taken after 1 Dec 23...  ;)
