Further to this thread we've decided to go ahead. So can anyone recommend a good dog/puppy 'owners manual'?

I found this book excellent:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Perfect-Puppy-Britains-Number-Care/dp/060061722X/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1357053519&sr=1-1

Lots of good photos, sensible advice etc. Well worth the price!

I liked Jan Fennels - The Dog Listener, some good simple advice that makes sense, there's also a puppy version but I've not used that.

Have fun!
