Never mind - there's Maitre Jacques.  Quite the dish in his day...
Now he WAS sexy. Very suave. I have a DVD called (I think) 'French Legends', in which his story is shared with that of Bernard Hinault. I bought it from HMV (who I think had priced it as a loss-leader) for £5 in the belief that no sane person would buy it.  Yup  ;D.

May I direct all to this .
My copy is on order.

Its a wonder he found time to ride a bike.

The producers of 'Quelles sont vos racines' would certainly earn their money if they were requested to produce a lineage for his progeny.

I remember when Briko Stingers were new.  A review, probably in the Comic, said "1% of people look cool in these.  The other 99% look like pond life."

I proudly showed them to my riding partner.  "Pond life", he said, without a moment's hesitation  >:(

Norfolk. Oh dear.
Be grateful it isn't up here (North Wales). I'll see your 600k in Norfolk with 80-odd miles of the Wild Wales Challenge. And I keep going back. Some people never learn  ::-)

The mountain climbers I thought of were Virenque (ugly); Charly Gaul (ugly); Robert Miller (best will in the world, love, you're my favourite cyclist ever, but you're not pretty); Tommy Simpson (ugly)...
