Over the last couple of weeks my left foot have clipped out very easy and it was a bit of a bugger a few time when I was climbing a hill or setting off from a red light.

So I had a look today at my cleats ...



I think that they are a bit worn out !!!

Just checked mine, they look OK.  I find you know you need to change them, when the depth of hole in the bolt is just enough that you can't get a good purchase with an Allen key... of course at this point it's a little too late!

how long have they lasted? i seem to go through a set of look deltas about once every year or so, but they do get walked on.

I have used them for just over a year, only pair of cycling shoes I have, and have walked a fair bit in them too.

Noticed today that it is harder to clip in with the new cleats and also they stick out since the shoe is worn down.

I had to remove my last pair with an angle grinder they were so worn. Which was fun, except I managed to melt part of the sole on my shoe

 The cleat demons have possessed them, they are suppressed deep inside the cleat and only come out once the metal wears with the sole intention of making you fall off.

Yeah, aren't Eggbeater cleat made from brass so they'll wear out more quickly?

No I didn't have to drill and yes they are made of something that looks and feel like brass or something the like.

They did last over a year (5000+ miles) and heavy walking and the shoe is worn down too. So with the new cleats I can really tap dance
