SATURDAY 13th APRIL RELAY MOVEMENT ALERT

I'm going to be riding around London this morning, and the baton is coming along. So if anyone has the fancy to become the holder I can be contacted on my mobile. To avoid spam collectors replace ABC with the numbers 079. May be best to text, too, and I can call back ABC57 529723. In the first instance, I 'd say anywhere inside the M25.

Glad the baton is moving. Let's hope we get a handover. Fair winds you Londoners, yacf expects!

THE BATON'S BIG DAY OUT
==================

Understandably because there was no warning, there was no handover possible. But, I had decided that it was time to show the baton the sights - after all, it hasn't been to London before, and it is getting quite old.

I quickly realised what a significant artefact I was carrying, and here's the photographic proof:

MORE !!! Monumental than the Monument

TALLER!! Than the Shard

AMAZED!! by Tower Bridge

SPINNY-ER!! Than the London Eye

BONGY-ER!! Than Big Ben

STICKY-ER!! Than Churchill's Stick

STANDING!! To attention outside Buckingham Palace

ALMOST!! As big as the Telecom Tower

I'm goign to be riding east to west on Wednesday evening over to HEathrow, then not back till next week.

Is it STILL in London?  And not moving around it?
Don't let it ever go back there.  They're flipping hopeless.
Admission.  I'm actually not that fussed about cake.

I'm almost tempted to attempt a cycle home from London to Swindon, in order to move Teh Baton Of Awesum on its way.

Alas, taking it to the sunny sights of Swindonia would probably be less fun for the baton.

Dunno, but if it's still in THAT LONDON mid-july it can have a jaunt to Thee Howling Wastelands of CrimmeriaThe North/folk somewhere along the route, for a change of scenery...
I'd offer you some moral support - but I have questionable morals.

Still doing my periodic six months of posting to YACF regularly, six months off thing...

How on earth did it get back darn sarf again?

I've now moved from Shropshire to Manchester (and updated map accordingly) and willing to shift it somewhere within about 25 miles of Stockport...

Could it do LE this year, stay up here and do a sedate grand tour of Scotland, before completing EL in 2017?    The necessary documentation can be arranged - probably  ;) That should be enough time to see the sights, without troubling the average speed too much ...

EDIT:  maybe making this thread a sticky would help keep the baton moving along?

I am going to do the Oxford--London ride on 7/8th June and the Smithfield nocturn meet on the saturday evening.
Can the baton meet up on Saturday and I will then be off on a mini tour back north the following week via the east coast.

Saturday night is a no-no because I'm at the theatre (Open Air, To Kill a Mockingbird)

You in London all day?

Are we allowed to carry it again?

If so - we'll happily take it to Edinburgh on LEL at the end of July, for its Scottish trip.

Open air?  that's handy, can I suggest an air rifle?

What play are you going to see?
