I logged my kilometrage for the first time for ages in 2013, recording 100 rides (probably omitting a few shopping rides).  There were some wonderful, memorable rides but the summer mileage in June through August was badly hit by a DIY project going out of control  :(.

Must try to remember quality is much more important than quantity, so logging distance isn't really what the enjoyment is all about.

C = cumulative kilometrage over year
MA = cumulative monthly average through year
DA = daily average within month

2013   km   C   MA   DA
Jan   605   605   605   19.52
Feb   625   1230   615   22.32
Mar   683   1913   638   22.03
Apr   505   2418   605   16.83
May   820   3238   648   26.45
Jun   230   3468   578   7.67
Jul   695   4163   595   22.42
Aug   474   4637   580   15.29
Sep   703   5340   593   23.43
Oct   591   5931   593   19.06
Nov   741   6672   607   24.70
Dec   130   6802   567   4.19

6802 km = 4227 miles

Oh dear my target for 2014 was 8000 miles and my actual mileage ended up being 4872.To be honest I am surprised I managed that , after suffering a bout of sciatica early August.  Recovery has been slow and frustrating, but I have built up to a longest ride of 52 miles. Lets hope for a better year in 2015.

I made it past 5000 miles for the first time: 5,129, says Strava. Last year's mileage was about 4500, so that's an improvement. :)

Switched to My Cycling Log for 2014 rather than using my own spreadsheet. It doesn't give such a detailed analysis, but is rather easier to complete.  Anyway, this year I recorded 9117 km in 460:33:51 hours at 19.79 km/h (5664 miles in about 19 full days or 57 eight hour days).

Not really sure where the extra 2315 kilometres came from compared with last year.  It didn't feel significantly more!

I'll continue with My Cycling Log for next year. I'm not too fussed about a distance target, but would like to get a bit faster!

I set a target of 3000 miles for this year, did more in the end plus have managed to get my average speed up to 14.2 from 13.1 last year.

Bike: 3603.41
Car: 3541.60

I am going to try for 4000miles next year.

Annual bump.

Crap year this year, mostly through injury. Hopefully things will improve next year. I want to try to go for at least one ride just for the fun of it every week. No ambitious annual targets for me this year.

2014 Mileage: 4638.4 @ 12.1mph with 298,831 ft of climbing. Helped by having no operations or medical issues during the year.

This has been my best year since I had a heart attack when I was coming up to 60. I gave up smoking and started cycling. In these last 7 years I have ridden 25,903 miles and climbed 1,372,178 ft.

Hmm, let's see what Uncle Strava has jotted down in his notebook (Sorry Wow, all my records are in metric too). This should be largely complete; I bought the bike in 2010 or 2011 but I'd be surprised if I did any significant cycling on it. Most of my rides then were no more than 10km at a time!

YearDistance (km)Time (h)Avg Speed (km/h)
20121,9329819.7
20132,36411720.2
20143,88518421.1
Total8,18139920.5

My target for 2015 is to crack 5,000km and to have a laugh along the way.

Wishing you a healthy new year Mr Wow.

Same from me.

This. Not even half the miles I did in 2013 thanks to injury in April and various other niggles. Hopefully can get properly healed before too much of 2015 has gone by. *sulk*

Annual mileage for 2014 - 5931, but this was achieved in just 69 rides making an average of 86 miles per ride, easily a record, probably because of my target this year of 50+ 100km rides.  24/69 rides were more than 100 miles so about 35% of the times I ventured out on the bike.

I wish I was enthusiastic enough to record my riding. Over £8000 every year since 1997 except a couple of years ago when I was hit by cars on two occasions,

Annual bump time!

An improvement on last year. I am hoping to improve still further in 2016, as grandparental duties should recede a little as the younger gc attains the ripe old age of 3 years and therefore qualifies for a free nursery place.

One handicap I have is that all my commuting is now done by car. The timings and locations of the schools I teach in make cycling impractical. This not only reduces my miles a bit, but more importantly, commuting "normalises" cycling and the mental battle to get out on the bike is much more easily won.

6499.9 miles this year for me (no, I can't be bothered going round the block). Not much compared to some on here, but my biggest annual mileage to date. :)

4267 for me ☺ . I lost 6 week's riding due to my hernia surgery mid year and I have had trouble motivating myself to ride in the last 2 month s  so I could have done a bit better   :)

13,254 miles in 2015 including 88 x 100km, 31 x 100 miles and 23 x 200km.

A record year in respect of all four elements. Not sure I'll match any of those in 2016, but I'm determined to finish the year with an Eddington of 100.
Eddington Number = 132

Nothing special from me.  Set my usual target of 5000 km.  Passed that in mid November.  Slackened off and added 320 utility km since then.
Admission.  I'm actually not that fussed about cake.
