Can't see a thread on this.
I am sure there are others here who know much more about it but a great weekend looms.
17-17 Aug @ Bentwaters in Suffolk. The fastest most extreme dark side rides and riders doing their utmost.  Great kit and awesopme speeds. Races and also some social rides in the surrounding gentle countryside. Racing fairly serious and pre-registered.

Camping, BBQ's etc.

About a hundred or more are expected I understand via BHPC site.

Should be a fun weekend.

More information here.

Race registration and camping pitch bookings can be made with payment via Paypal here. But hurry!

Racing will be on Sat/Sun 16/17th August; there will be two touring rides (one of ~25 miles, one of ~55 miles) on each of the following three days. Pleasant, rolling countryside with plenty of interesting things to see within cycling distance. Excellent weather booked  8)

Mens' and womens' world champions will be in attendance, as will most of their close rivals, including all the fastest UK racers. But you don't have to be a contender to have fun taking part! And you'll be representing your country in an international event, whatever speed you go at :)
Profit or planet?

I shall be there...  ;D

Although I have yet to get around to booking a camp site, which I will probably regret...

Hmmm, want to go but it's 6+ hours on the train, so needs 2 days off work, which I can't afford...
I'd like the BHPC to hold events within 180 miles of me, given that I live in the 2nd largest conurbation in Britain.  As it is, I can'y really make anything they do without significant sacrifice...

Glasgow?

Our Lancaster/Preston weekend was 2hrs 21 mins away from you by train. We had members from Penzance and Jersey there.

Oops, I'd forgotten that the fast train line stops in Lancaster  :-[
That'd be quite fun if I can book a 'bent bike on to a Virgin train

I've had no trouble putting mine on the Virgin trains, It just goes on as a normal bike reservation.
Wheeled it up to the window and got a ticket for it.

Thanks to Frazer, Simon brought his beautiful machine outside for me to photograph.  If my memory serves me correctly I think it weighs approximately 11.5kgs

No 67 has a rather large chainring!  The wheels don't look that small (20"? bigger?), so I assume it can hammer around at a fair old rate of knots.
Actually, it is rocket science.

Got home with too many photos of yesterday's 3-hour race.  Will post a few when I've had a chance to sort through them.

Nice shots.

What is it about that Mike Burrows shot that makes me think of Edwardian England?

I can mock. He did significantly better than me!  :)
