Life's small, but unexpected simple pleasures
« on: 26 April, 2008, 01:09:49 pm »
So, having had my weekend pootling plans cruelly curtailed by man flu, I decided to do a spot of gardening.

Surveying the extensive grounds of Gandalf Towers, my humble suburban plot, I came upon some clumps of Bluebells.  For no particular reason I decided to gather a few blooms and stick them in a vase and present them to SWMBO.

Her reaction was not quite what I had anticipated, normally when I bring flowers in from the garden I don't get much of a reaction other than a rather terse  'where am I going to put them?'.

This time she was absolutely delighted and kept saying 'how lovely' and smelling them.  I'm definitely in her good books, for the moment at least.

Isn't life funny sometimes?

The last time I bought flowers for SWMBO the reaction was
"what have you done wrong" >:(
So I said that I wouldn't buy flowers again. That was seven years ago & still no flowers. :P
