That was fun!
AH led Tomsk and I on a very pleasant ride out to a lovely pub (The Haywain at Little Bromley(?) -- Tendring CAMRA pub of the year 2009 and 2010) with a nice range of ales. I sampled the Sticklegs Malt Shovel Mild, another ale I can't remember the name of, and a brew from the Harwich brewery. They aso had Adnams on, but I didn't try it.
Just short of 20 miles (including my to/from bits) with some mildly undulating terrain, and my first MEMWNS on fixed. I didn't want to let go too ferociously downhill, but managed to hit 30.8mph. If my calculations are correct, on my 67.3 inch gear, that's a cadence of ~154rpm. (Edit: (30.8 * 1760 * 36) / (67.3 * 60 * pi) = 153.833067
)
Thanks, AH: you have a wonderful taste in pubs (doubly impressive on account of being a teetotaller), .
