UCI at it again
« on: 07 May, 2009, 04:52:35 pm »
Mad Pat McQuaid is issuing the decrees again

Apparently there is to be a crack down on aero parts

This will happen a couple of days before the TdF

Somehow, having seatposts that are a regular shape will make cycling a better sport

Nothing new I think... It goes back a few years: Aspect ratios (AR) of 3 maximum is allowed. Teams and manufacturers have omitted that clause all along; earlier this year the UCI said it would enforce it, but gave a period of grace to the many who were breaking the rules and would not have been able to race. And yes a change in AR does make a difference on the frame and handlebars in particular. Having done the calculations it does show on a TT bike.
