Scott, what is it? A nail from the railroad?

On a 100m stretch of quiet country road I came across three run over Vipers.

Thing is they are on the endangered species list and one hardly ever see one, alive that is!

Not sure--it looks like an old-fashioned nail from wooden houses, etc., but it's new.

Very sad about the vipers.
