Anyone out from the Chelmsford chapter ?

If so, what are your plans for pre-Woolie riding ?

Just in case the Witham peloton fancies a more interesting route to the Chelmo Woolie this evening I offer THIS.  Highlights: the eastern escarpment of TMNH, dogging as a spectator sport followed by a little light COR.
The dogging element of the route, is that what inspired the recumbent Scotty Dog image that the route traces out??

Pre-Woollie riding completed earlier, travelling by foot to Woolie, probably via an eating establishment of some description.

I will probably head out for a little loop around the Rodings in half an hour or so then grab something to eat and head to the Woolie for 9 by bike.

I can't make it tonight, which is a shame given the proximity of the venue!
Those wonderful norks are never far from my thoughts, oh yeah!

Oh yes ... here it is ... SOME AUDACIOUS FORWARD PLANNING!!!
Fellow MEMWNS riders, here are my forward planning suggestions for the coming months.  I have tried to achieve the following:

1. Make sure everyone has a pub near(ish) to where they live
2. The Compsses, LG is visited regularly
3. As the weather worsens there is a train to get most of us home (too bad if you don't live near a rail station  ;D  )
4. As the weather improves I have stretched out the distances
5. There are some WAG friendly options
6. I have added some special events to liven up the calendar

September 2016
•   W 28 – Dog Inn, Halstead (unvisited GBG pub)

October 2016
•   W 5 - Compasses, LG
•   Sa 8 – Outdoor coffee morning, Danbury
•   W 12 – Maltster’s Arms, Heybridge
•   W 19 – Crown, Messing
•   Th 20 – Ned Boulting, Chelmsford
•   W 26 – Prince of Wales, Stow Maries

•   Sa 19 – Essex Shit Roads
•   W 23 – Royal Oak, Hazeleigh
•   W 30 – Donkey & Buskins, Layer-De-La-Haye

December 2016
•   W 7 – Christmas curry, venue TBC

January 2017
•   W 4 – Ale House, Chelmsford
•   Sa 7 – Epiphany Do???
•   W 11 – Hurdlemakers, Woodham Mortimer
•   W 18 – Witham pubs
•   W 25 – Compasses, Gt Totham

February 2017
•   W 1 – King Billy, Notley
•   W 8 – Maldon pubs
•   W 15 – Colchester pubs
•   W 22 – Compasses, LG

March 2017
•   W 1 - The Norton, Cold Norton
•   W 8 – The Cats, Woodham Walter

By the way, the above provisional calendar is now available as a downloadable Word document on our Facebook page, just click on the "Files" tab.  I can email it to folks if they'd like, PM me if you don't think I have your email address.  I will update the Word doc as changes get made.

I thought I'd give you all time to feedback before The Grand Plan TM swings into action.

Something I forgot to mention, the sharper eyed amongst you will notice there isn't much in The Grand Plan TM for December as people are often busy with work and family festive activities so we can make December up as we go along.

I noticed the lack of December activities and assumed it must be a MEMWNS sabbatical or the like

Yes indeed!

It's just a cunning plan to avoid sorting out our garden fence and decking!  I might dismantle them both and take them over to him piece by piece so he can do the job from his bed of pain and misery!

I think he's going to find our concern for his wellbeing very heartening!  Got something in your eye Dan?

Assuming he's home next Wednesday perhaps we can have an evening in the Angel & Harp and pay the invalid a visit?
