Windows for a Newbie
« on: 26 June, 2020, 02:56:15 pm »
A contact of mine knows nothing about Windows, including whether his machine is 32- or 64-bit.  Is there a very simple way for him to find out?  I'm a Linux person myself, so don't know how you'd go about this with Windoze.

Right click on the My Computer icon, then click properties. That should give you some system information, including 32 bit/64 bit.

Or press the Windows key + Pause/Break.

I'm a complete computer numpty and couldn't answer the question so I thought I'd try and find out.

Click the Window shaped button bottom left.
Click "Settings".
Click "About".
That tells me "Device Specification" including processor, RAM size, and that it is 64-bit.
