Hi,
Anyone have experience of using Izumi 1/8 chains ? Longevity, smooth running etc.

Several versions are available. The kieran approved version ( with a bolted joining link) is excellent and very tough - but very fussy about a perfect chain line if it is to run smoothly in my experience.

generally more expensive but are popular in track world. For commuting etc I think Izumi are expensive and offer nothing extra.

I've just received a black for the Pomp; I'll report back any issues. For what was described as a simple black chain, it's pretty blingy.

I use Izumi tracks most of the time.   I think high end chains are a bit expensive for the rate I get through them.   Similarly I bought a KMC chain for a fiver once and wore it out in the space of one wet ride.

The Izumis wear well on the commute and are decent enough quality to race on.

Reminds me. I think I have enough spare bits of Izumi chain in the garage to make a whole one.
