I have a cunning plan which might not work but fortune favours the brave. If you chaps can keep edging it closer to East Anglia I might be able to secure a pass and do a long ride to retrieve the baton from wherever it is. The only only problem is my window of opportunity isn't going to start opening until the end of April.

I shall be watching the baton's progress with great interest over the next few weeks. I shall also be doing all I can to build up a good stock of Brownie points

I may have a similar opportunity to retrieve it down Cambridge way. Provisional pass for a two day ride around the 29th April; I could fetch it from about jogler's range. If it hasn't moved far already.

That sounds ideal. I could contemplate riding fixed over that general terrain to make a "joint-fixed" handover.
Let me know if you wish to make some firm arrangements when you know about your legs.

I assume that today's handover to Chris didn't happen (no mention here and it pissed it down all day). The forecast for tomorrow looks quite reasonable and I am still available if that is any good for you.

I'm planning a ride from home (Cheadle-ish,Staffs) to Ticknall & return via Marston Montgomery this coming Saturday,12th May.

I, and a few others, are very keen that the baton has a tour of East Anglia. I have a pass signed for Sunday 10th June. If someone could get it part way from Uttoxeter to East Anglia I might be able to collect it and bring the baton to the land of the rising sun on the 10th.

26th May to 3rd June inclusive

9th June

unless the venue is close to me & is an evening/night ride.

Jogler, do you not have a tent? In principle, I am prepared to lead Team, if necessary of 1, to meet you somewhere mid-way, eg Rutland Water, so that we can rescue this wretched baton from its current predicament.

You are in St. Neots, aren't you, Canardly? I could possibly visit my sister in St. Ives, meet you somewhere and then cycle home via Oscar's Dad's place in Witham. This won't be in the near future as I'm off to Scotland next week and most of June is already spoken for.
