https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Garside. This man has fascinated me for years - I daily followed his run at the time and was, and am, in awe. I was very upset by the accusations thrown at him and, to my shame, also wondered about how genuine he was. Dan Koeppel's article is one of the most moving apologies I have ever read. He just wasn't part of the ultramarathon clique and paid for it.
But where is he now? Is he married with kids and keeping his head well down - if so, why? Has he died? Who updated the wiki so recently and what was the update? Dan Koeppel doesn't know (he tweeted me a reply to that effect very recently)
Does anybody know? I could try the running / ultramarathon forums but many seem to have spamming safeguards against newcomers and don't allow new postings unless a known contributor. Any cyclist / runner do this for me?
