I've hardly been out, still less about, since it started but don’t recall seeing any fleg-adorned motor-cars in Mr Sainsbury’s House of Toothy Comestibles' car park this week.

Today the Kia car showroom opposite my shop put up 2 England flags on the top of one of the 6 cars parked outside.  Clearly they're not massive fans.

Another Rubbish.  Johnny Gaucho scored twice in the second half but Poland still go through thanks to stoppage time goal by Saudi Arabia.

Poland would have gone through anyway, according to the Graun, because of the Yellow Cards Tiebreak Rule.

(According to the Graun, which means it might be wrong...)

They went through on goal difference, which means if Argentina or Mexico had scored one more, Mexico would have got that second place. Yellow cards only come after that. And of course we all remember that England won the Fair Play Award in... was it 1990?

In-ger-lund did indeed win the Fair Play wossname at Italia 90, probably due to the presence of Saint Gary of Lineker in the team.

Spain are safe unless CR actually win or Germany score another six goals. The former seems rather more likely than the latter.
