OK, I'll keep trying!  Must admit I was struggling to imagine Suggs at Glasgow Empire!

What links Chas n Dave, Dean Martin, Donna Summer, Status Quo and Suggs, amongst others?

All have had stage musicals based around their songs / lives (just a guess)

Why should anybody steal a watch when they can steal a bicycle?

They've all had songs used as theme tunes by various football clubs?

Anything to do with cup-finals and super-bowls?

Can you be more precise?

Well, to walk where Tim has already stepped, Suggs sang a Cup-Final song for Chelsea, C & D for Spurs and Status Quo/Manchester United did one for Manchester United.  I'm still working on Dean and Donna!

Yeah, they all did cup final songs, or had one of their songs covered as a cup final song.

I have a good question if nobody else wants a turn.

Which band has had the most appearances on TotP? (And for a bonus point, which band has had the second most appearances?)

No idea.  I guess Cliff Richard's been on a stomach-churning number of times, so perhaps the Shadows, since they had a lot of hits on their own as well?

Otherwise, I guess it's a band with a long catalogue and consistency, so that might be the Rolling Stones or The Hollies, perhaps...

somewhere around 50, unless you include earlier stuff before they were called The Slade, then I would think nearer to 60

so I'll go for 55
