Here's a question, then.

How would a Mexican Whistler and Celina's other half be able to better inform the Only Man On The Island?

All right, then, ya bunch o' quitters! ;D

http://www.youtube.com/v/ICc2MiApS30&rel=1 was the signature track of Roger Whittaker, famously born in Nairobi, Kenya. Celina, for those fond of World Music, is probably the most famous Kenyan pop song, by http://www.youtube.com/v/Z5d_1GW-ieE&rel=1. He was a Kikuyu, but certainly had more knowledge of Nairobi than Tommy Steele, who recorded the execrable single http://www.youtube.com/v/IZ1_vpsGCM8&rel=1. Another of his criminal records was The Only Man On The Island.

OK, I'm thinking cover versions (since no one else seems to be having a go).

We know that Kate Bush does very few covers, but maybe it's a cover of one of her tracks.

The only one I can think of is The Lemonheads' Running Up That Hill.

EDIT: I think that's Placebo. Seems that it's Futureheads who did Hounds of Love :-[

For the otehrs, I can think of surprisingly few cover versions (except, of course, the Beatles, who every man & his dog have done). Johnny Cash did Personal Jesus.

All had black and white album cover photos rather than colour? I can think of The Dreaming, Sensual World, With the Beatles and one of the New Order ones. Can't claim familiarity with M&M and Depeche Mode

Wasn't Hounds of Love B/W too?

The Dreaming was sepia.

Depeche Mode did have one with a B/w photo, but I have no idea what it was called, but I think it was a compilation

Hounds was colour on the front, mono on the back. She got a bit of stick for the front cover (with two dogs) which some people found erotic. The back cover was to illustrate the other half of the album, the Ninth Wave, and has her covered in seaweed and other ocean debris. The things artists go through.

Oh, hang on. Album covers that don't feature the name of the act on them.

e.g. Abbey Road, Aeriels,

no; although one of the covers in question does not have the name of the act or title on it

Guess:

Sensual World (Bush) & Power, Corruption & Lies (New Order) & Sgt Pepper (Beatles) have flowers on the sleeves.

Edit: just used a famous interweb serach engine & found an Eminem & a Depeche Mode album with flowers.

Bugger! I was going to say that but I couldn't remember a Beatles album with flowers on the cover.

The Boy With The Arab Strap - B&S
Three Imaginary Boys - The Cure
Boys Keep Swinging - Bowie

Not difficult - you probably only need to have even heard of one or two of the bands to get the link.
