Coffee with coconut oil?
« on: 16 October, 2012, 09:48:18 pm »
Just heard about this elsewhere and apparently it is a Thing.  You can blame those paleo nutters for it, because clearly Piltdown man evolved to put coconut oil in his roasted berry-seed beverage.

Black coffee + coconut oil = something like white coffee, unctuous and rich and good.

Citation needed.  Can you provide it?
It takes blood and guts to be this cool but I'm still just a cliché.

Won't the oil just float on top?

Coconut milk I can understand. coconut cream even, but oil?

only used a small amount  and yes it does float on top, but I think part of it dissolved because there are not that much.
smell : slightly smell of coconut.
Taste :  actually it tastes quite good, rich and round, not that much of coconut.

Andy your description : unctuous and rich are spot on, how ever taste, it's up to whoever drinks it.
If you want it as a paleo caffe laté it will work.
