Title: any tree surgeons out there?

Blue spruce on the drive, about 18 months ago a large branch fell out of it, and if you take a look at the photo below, there is a lot of deadwood as you can see.  You can also see that I've done some work raising the crown to stop it getting in the way of the drive. 

Question for anyone who has any experience,
1) if I take out the deadwood will it fill out again
2) is the deadwood likely to be terminal?

Deadwood will not regrow. Take right back to the trunk. You can scratch off the surface bark. Green=alive Brown=kaput.

On damaged but living branches, don’t prune past the last healthy needles.

By creating this space it ‘may’ provide space for other branches or foliage to fill but this can’t be controlled.

That’ll be &22.00 + vat.

Thanks, I wasn't asking if the deadwood would regrow, but you answered my question about infill thanks. 

Pruning I'm OK with after twenty five years of doing bonsai  :thumbsup:

I'm more worried about whether that deadwood is a likely indicator of tree death?

Hopefully not spruce dieback. I haven’t checked but I vaguely remember it’s the same disease as oak die back.
