Recording X-Box Screen Action
« on: 23 May, 2012, 08:25:01 am »
Is there a simple & free way of recording X-Box gaming action? I don't mind stretching to a cable to allow AWL Jr to record his antics, but I don't want to (& won't) splash out on expensive recording software if there's a freeware option.

Assuming you mean record on a PC, then you will need some sort of video capture device or TV tuner card (not just a cable). Either some sort of USB device, or a PCI card or similar.
There's loads of cheap ones on Ebay, though I don't know if they are any good, or what the quality is like. Using an S-video connection should be better quality than composite.
They should include suitable software for recording videos.

eg something like this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/USB-2-0-Audio-Capture-Card-VHS-TV-DVD-video-STK1160-GRABBER-PSP-WIN-7-32bit-/230641649502
Or just search for something like "video capture usb".
