Oh wow - thanks 'Sarge'. Haven't seen any NLCs from Brum so far this season but keep an eye on http://www.spaceweather.com/DAISY_PICS/current_daisy.png for forecasts. Doesn't properly cover the UK and I'm not sure how sensitive it is but it might give a heads-up if conditions are promising.

I've only just seen this shot, Jaded, but it's gorgeous.  I was just dropping in to report NLCs on a FNRttC this weekend: 3am in Gravesend
