A great British staple. We invented kebabs you know. And Turkey.

We invented Turkish Muslamic hordes and then Brexited to keep them out.  Even though they couldn't come in anyway.  Oh well, we'll keep the kebabs.

Facts, Rz, facts. You really must try harder to get out of the habit of relying on them to make your point. Before you know it, you’ll be using them to,win arguments. Nasty habit that.

Here's a fun fact: Turkish Delight from Cyprus* is called Greek Delight**.

*the part people visit, not the unrecognised northern occupied zone

**because they don't like Turkey very much

What's more mysterious is why he bothered coming all the way to Oxfordshire to do it.

Where else are you going to find a dragon?

Wiki tells me it's also "International Pixel-Stained Technopeasant Day". I feel the need to learn more about this.

The only thing I look forward to on St G's  day is the Port declaration. Not a vintage year, just single quintas.

In The Before Times I was cycling with some mates around Belgium. Our route took us to Mons, where the whole town was engaged in a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity huge piss up which includes St George killing a dragon. And beer. Much beer.

Being FOREIGN from ABROAD they seem to do this on Trinity Sunday and not on Shakespeare's birthday like God intended.

I THINK ITS A DISGRACE THAT WE DON’T HAVE A BANK HOLIDAY ON ST GEORGE’S DAY. ALL TRUE PATRIOTS SHOULD GO ON STRIKE UNTIL THEY INSTIGATE IT. AND WHILE THERE AT IT THEY CAN MAKE TRAFALGA DAY A BANK HOLIDAY AS WELL. THIS GOVERNMENT JUST AREN’T PATRIOTS.

Surely we need one for Waterloo,Agincourt and Crecy as well? Maybe we could just roll them up into one special extra long weekend "f**k you Frenchies" bank holiday (ala Easter weekend).
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.

Wouldn't that be a "Fu*k you Frenchies and Spaniards" bank holiday, given that it was their combined fleets at Trafalgar?

This is true but half of England goes on holiday to Spain for two weeks every year anyway so I feel a bank holiday for this might be superfluous.

The other half goes to the Dordogne, even though they can't (or won't) pronounce it properly.

Fake news ^^^^.  A real Gammon would have used a mixture of upper- and lower-case, random numbers  of spaces between   words ,,,,,,,,,,,,  ,,,,,,,, strings of commas for no readily-apparent reason and far far more speling erors.
