My Mum in law is out of hospital and eating, I rang the hospital ward and said thank you, bloody miracle workers
The problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so sure of themselves, and wiser men so full of doubt.

I had my Hamilton serviced.

About the only original bit left is the movement.  I got a new case, new bezel, new strap... and all for £195 quid (they mislaid the watch for 6 weeks so they halved the service charge).

Bobb'll be here in under half an hour. Haven't seen him since early November. Can't bloody wait!

I'm off on my holibobs tomorrow. I'm going down to Salisbury to pick up my niece and nephew, and then we're off for a week on the boat...

Sod the weather - I'll enjoy the break whatever happens (unless it's another canal collapse).

I am slowly kicking the lurgy that I have had for the last month, and becoming less asthmatic. May be able to do something slightly more athletic than walking soon.

Better just in time to go back to work on the 2nd.  ::-)

After an interesting amble with a gentleman who is currently engaged in widespread pillaging of the  countryside (*) it looks like we may be able to get most of the blockages in the railway path cleared. He does seem to have an interesting array of very specialised toys to play with.

It's currently a bit theoretical but could actually see action on the ground within a month or so. Things do seem to be falling into place.

My laptop's new SSD arrived today! (It was expected next Wednesday).  If all goes well, I'll be able to rebuild my laptop tonight.  No bets are being taken as whether I'll work on the laptop or pack for tomorrow's flight first.

I am going out paddling tomorrow for the first time in ages. It will be ace, though I'm borrowing a boat as I no longer have one or any gear it appears.

I see xcweather.co.uk is currently predicting snow for Southend, Sunday afternoon  :D.

Have fun with that!

The furthest ahead the Met Office 5-day forecast goes is Saturday night. Strong NE wind. That's normally a prerequisite for a good dose of snow for this area.

The new blackout linings on our bedroom curtains seem to work pretty well. Not perfect but it should reduce the 'who turned the light on' moments when I've done a night shift.
