Darts isn't the most healthy of activities, but 60 is young.
Not for a Darts player from that era it's not. The big names I remember (Jocky Wilson, Alan Evans, Leighton Rees..etc) seem to die around 60. The ones still with us (Bobby George, Andy Fordham) seem infirm way beyond their years
That suggests the body can take about 60 years of abuse from booze, fags, bad diet, late nights and lack of exercise. In many ways it's a miracle that the human body can deal with it for so long.
Bristow was a true legend though, identifiable by a nickname alone.
