Not your aspirations but actually a dream I hsd

Last night I dremt that I was in my town for some community event which they had half shut the high street for. Popped into local zero waste shop (which I had been to that day but isn't actually in my town) and they said someone had been in putting up anti cycling flyers. I went and found said person and then took them for a walk through the high street explaining why cycling or walking was so much better then the cars pushing through the crowds (I know unrealistic dream...crowds) and he started to come round to my way of thinking especially when I berated an idiot cycling on the pavement but unfortunately the anti cycling person finished with ah but I don't really care. Im emigrating to Norfolk

As a child I used to regularly have a dream, whereby I  was lying on my back and trying to pedal, to get away from someone/thing.

50 years later it became a reality, when I bought my recumbent.

I had a kind of cycling dream last night. I was on a bike tour, not sure where but it felt vaguely rural France. Anyhow, I was on a bus then suddenly remembered I was on a bike tour and didn’t have my bike with me. So I got off and started heading back to where I’d stayed, though I had an unsettling suspicion I didn’t have the bike there either. Then I met two old school friends and woke up.

Anyone else woken themselves up with an emergency swerve to avoid a pothole?

I was about to hit a crocodile when I woke up and it was a kerb I was about to hit, about 150km from finish pbp last year.

Another one last night. Cycling on what was the estate i grew up and cycle across regularly. For some reason I was going really fast even though I wasn't pedaling and it's dead flat so grabbed my back brake, then realised I'd forgotten to reconnect it after taking the wheel out for some work

By this point I was going too fast to risk grabbing my front brake so had to bump up all the kerbs and ended up crashing into the block of flats

Sort of in reverse:  My (real) nightmare started when I failed to negotiate a pothole I was avoiding by being forced into it by a speeding White Van Person.  Broken arm, operation, etc.  My weirdest "sporting" dream involves hockey which I played when younger.  I was playing in an international and was certain to score; however, as I struck the ball, it morphed into a bowl of sugar and my hopes were dashed (so was the sugar).  Psychiatrists would make a meal of that - and they'd be right, as it turned out!

Some good tales on this thread.
