Uhoh, looks like it's re-opened: https://thebargeinnhoneystreet.co.uk/

(Threadcromancy because this is an important warning to future generations of cycle campers and others who want to sit round a camp fire quietly, discussing Terry Pratchett novels and recumbent gearing permutations.)

Is that the place we stayed at and were awake all night?

Edit: just re-read the thread and found that it was.

That was quite a significant weekend. We found a tea room in somewhere (Devizes? Trowbridge?) and it was in there that I learned the results of the Labour party leadership election had resulted in a Corbyn victory.

So has it changed hands but stayed the same in character or did it never get sold?

I’m currently reading “Walking The Great North Line” by Robert Twigger. He’s just reached Honeystreet & been disappointed to find the pub closed down.

Is that a good book? It looks like it could be interesting or could be woo...

I’m only on the first few chapters & there is a lot of talk about shamanistic beliefs.  I think he’s spent some time living with tribal/nomadic people in a few parts of the world.  I read a review of the book recently & when I saw a copy in “ News From Nowhere” I bought it.

I read his first book “ Angry White Pyjamas “ over 20 years ago & enjoyed that as I could relate to the material.  He was bumming around in Japan & ended up on a high intensity Aikido course!
