The pub we went to for lunch used to be owned by Anthony Worrall-Thompson, who despite being an irritating git did a very nice Sunday roast indeed at a price which made it excellent value for money, & kept his beer in tip-top condition.
He sold it a couple of years ago to a couple of blokes who do decent but unspectacular lunches (e.g. a sandwich in great bread but a filling which is just OK), serve beer which is basically good but marred by being put through a sparkler, & charge slightly more than I think it's worth.
It's a bit disappointing.
