We took dog with us. He seemed to enjoy staying in various houses, but ceased eating almost completely, and crapping.

Cat left in house. (robot feeder and camera for monitoring).

Cat was very pleased to see us, extremely vocal for the first 24hours.

Last night, I say to MrsC "Please don't give the dog carrot, I don't think it does his digestion any good."

This morning, wake up to find large pile of dog sick on the carpet, including chunks of carrot.

Words Will Be Said.

Sleeping outside, in the snow.

Weird, but I guess that's what you get when you adopt a feral Hebridean kitten.

Bad Cat still being wary of the cat flap. Rewind back to Thursday when the residents of The Asbestos Palace left the house at 10 am and didn't return till midnight. Bad Cat was, unusually, nowhere to be seen when we came in (and we normally get a kitty welcoming committee when we come through the door). Odd, but she might not have heard us, she's good at sleeping under the covers in the spare room. Anyway, a hour passes and there's a ruckus outside the back door. What's that? Wander into the kitchen and see a paw trying to squeeze through the edge of the cat flap and pull it open.

It seems the microchip cat flap died during the day, now unresponsive. Oh well, it's about 10 years old. Bad Cat was less happy, she must have been trapped outside all day given she ate a lot of food and drank a lot of water. Then, of course, despite having spent the day outside, she went straight to the litter tray and deployed her full arsenal of chemical weaponry.

Our cat had the habit of just sitting right by the flap for hours, peering out. The battery would go flat pretty quickly.
Admission.  I'm actually not that fussed about cake.

Not very much.
Blackie spent all of Friday asleep on the dining table and hardly budged at all throughout the day.
She ate a little dry food yesterday and went out a couple of times.
She’s a bit more active today but not eating much. She’s been out once and returned but eaten little.
There’s no sign of distress.

Simon has also spent more time than usual asleep on the sofa.
He’s gone out, without eating now.

I presume they have some self-limiting lurgy...

Might they be eating out?
Zeppy caught a rabbit about the same size as herself yesterday and as usual chewed the head off and came in twitching.
I removed about 50 fleas from her ears...
Greedy madam wouldn't eat her tea yesterday, or breakfast this morning, which is a pita as it means she doesn't get her anti-epilepsy medicine.
Spent most of today asleep on the windowsill next to the radiator.

Hope Blackie and Simon are OK.

Simon is feral and might be eating out a bit but has spent much time on the sofa.
Blackie is ex-feral but has mostly been dozing, She’s not really BEEN anywhere to eat out.
I am worried.

Spending the night in vet hospital.
Having been unwell since Friday, with little significant oral intake, I thought Something Must Be Done.
Admission temperature 40.9C
They’ve done bloods but I don’t know results and are giving her fluids.

Let’s see what tomorrow brings…
Simon has started eating a bit more and is more active so has not been taken for attention.

We only have one cat carrier anyway.

Not now, but at half-five this morning.

Sam is a cat of regular habits. Recently he has taken to reminding us that the heating has come on, so it's nearly time for us to get up, with a gentle mew or two in our bedroom.
This morning, at about half-five, we got the full Maine Coon volume treatment. Eventually MrsC went downstairs to see if she could work out what the trouble was.
He had managed to lock the electronic cat flap so he couldn't get out. His favourite toy, a feathery thing on the end of elastic and a stick, was next to the flap, so presumably he'd been playing with that and landed on the lock button on the top of the flap housing.
Of course, being awake from 5.30 to 6.00 or so is completely useless for getting back to sleep, so all three of us have been rather shattered all day.

Thanks for asking!
Spent two nights in hospital, on IV fluids.
Slightly low K+ but otherwise normal U&Es
No major pathology but some lymphadenopathy round upper GI
Initially given Metacam but this was stopped.
Full bladder on 2nd day but Blackie wouldn’t pee indoors.

Discharged home somewhat improved with no firm Dx on CoAmoxiclav & Anti-nausea med, neither of which she would swallow.

Reduced oral intake and lethargy until yesterday, since when she’s perked up and started eating.

She’s not quite ack to normal but seems better.

My finances won’t recover till I get my State Pension in June...
Pyrexia improved but didn’t resolve pre discharge.

Blackie has FINALLY started eating properly!
She’s been eating only half her normal amount for several weeks, though seems only minimally thinner.

Dumpy has started on Senvelgo for diabetes, since I was having to feed him double the normal amount to maintain his no-longer-dumpy weight (he is a perfect 4.4kg, down from 5.9kg, and looks like a show cat now!).  I need to get a urine sample today as there is a 5% risk of DKA in the first fortnight.  He is, predictably, refusing to wee in the special litter.
