Oh I see what you mean although I linked to a Photobucket album.

Still, I'd rather meet that Weat than several species of big spider I can think of!

I remember a kid eating (a small) one at school.  He didn't hang around long enough to be asked what it tasted like

I like the spiders and geckos in our house for the same reason Wooly gives.

There was one of those in the kitchen yesterday. I gently ushered it out.

This one was minding its own business in a field behind my house.

Look very carefully and you can see the thread which seems to be emerging from an orifice

Ha, I love the micrometer!
We just had another massive one thundering across the living room floor (easy way to freak me out) but Mojo spotted it and dispatched it. He looked really disappointed when it stopped 'playing'.
Pingu wasn't v impressed though.

Our old cat (now sadly deceased) loved to play with spiders until a big one bit him on the nose. After that he didn't mess about with them just dispatched them on sight.
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.

We get regular visitations of the big gangly legged beasties. We christen them Boris when they turn up. The current Boris spent last night doing circuits of the lounge floor. He/ She would scuttlu from under the sofa, do a lap then return to the under sofa lair. About a minute later he/ she would be off again. I think he/ she is in training ;D
