TimO, I wish I had a picture of my Bagpuss. I battled for more than a decade to keep him off my sofa. He was stripey and ginger, king of the block, and the Cassina Le Corbusier thing was his favourite nest.
Find cat on sofa, remove cat to a place four floors above, and he would be back on the sofa, pretending to be asleep, faster than I could run down the stairs!
So a cat that spent his evenings in Tesco (all the staff knew him) came home to hog a sofa that cost more than a family car.
