What happened Noodley?

We took him to the vets yesterday as he was not himself and at that stage the vet thought it was gastroenteritis and put him on a drip for a few hours.  He came home in the evening but took a turn for the worse so went back again today.  The vet then thought it might be a liver shunt so we were preparing for a trip to the Dick Vet in Edinburgh for intensive care and hopefully an operation....but after a few more tests it became apparent he had Feline Infectious Peritonitis.  

He was spent.  And we owed it to him to spare him any suffering.

He purred when we gave him a cuddle when we were saying goodbye... :'(

I'm not taking it too well.  Sorry.

I'm so sorry to hear that, Noodley.

You did the right things, of course, and he was loved and cared for all his life - especially at the end.  It's probably the lost important thing we can do for them.
