This just in from the local cat protection establishment

He's about 3 years old, described as a stray, and was very nervous when he first arrived at Taylor Towers, hiding behind the sofa for the first 24 hours, but is gradually settling down.
He was named "Cliff" by the Cat People, so one of us will have to change....

He looks like a slimmer version of our "Kismet". My dad was taking one of our other animals to the vet and they had found a beautiful tortoishell abandoned in a box on the doorstep. Holiday season, said the vet. So she came home and has been stealing food ever since!

LOL, he does seem to have managed to become somewhat more relaxed, how unusual for a cat ! He is very striped in that shot, even down the legs.

\My sister in law has a persian cat that gets shaved every so often. They do groom her religiously but Persian cat hair apparently carries on growing so has to be kept at bay. Shaving is a kindness rather than cruel in this case. IANAV (vet) so may of course be totally wrong on this, though it's their vet friend who does the shaving.

Very impressive shots.

I'm always amazed how often the look and behaviour of big cats seems so similar to domestic cats, the mannerisms; washing, scratching, interactions with other cats. You can almost see them as a domestic cat just scaled up a bit.

Nevertheless, there's no way I'm going to scratch one of that lot under the chin or behind the ears.
