I had a preview last night. The sky was too bright to see Saturn without binoculars. Tonight is as for everyone else. Bugger!

Saw them last night, as above needed monocular to see Saturn as well. Knew it’d be a write off tonight based on forecast.

My friend in Whitstable had clear skies and excellent naked-eye views on Saturday or Sunday night. (Can't remember which!)

I caught a naked eye glimpse throught the gap in the buildings and hedges last night. Tonight? I guess I'll be looking for the Lowell Observatory live feed in a bit.

I took binoculars to the local park on Sunday, between putting the spuds and the veg on. It was nice to see, even though mine are low power. Even better, by being in public I got to talk to some strangers for the first time in ages.

Very pleased to see on this evening's dog empty that Orion is now so much higher in the sky. Spring is on its way.

Ah! Didn't know that - I noticed Orion last night for what seems the first time in ages - didn't know we couldn't see it in winter.

No. It's the other way around. It's a winter constellation. As the year progresses it makes its way west until it is no longer visible in the night sky.

I like seeing Mars every evening when the dogs are doing their evening thing. It's not going to be visible that much longer now.

Thx. Now I'm confused as my increasing useless memory was telling me I see Orion to the SW in the summer nights. I must be a half a year out. Typical geologist is my excuse - I spend most of my time looking down and not up.

Spotted half a dozen Persoids last week, including a spectacular one wiggling across the sky like a cheap firework rocket. Only saw 2 in about 15 minutes last night.

In town, so quite a lot of light, but Mrs B & I just saw a few from the back garden.

Not like when I was 14, though. Rural southern France, camping outside an old farmhouse taken over by PGL Adventure Holidays, flat on our backs looking up at the dark sky saying "There's one!", "Another!", & so on.

Saw two in rapid succession, then one really bright one with a long white tail that was split in two. The meteor seemed to skim the atmosphere and bounce away.

We both said 'Oooooooooooooooooooooooooh'.
