I'm not much of a mountain biker (in fact I'm not a mountain biker) but don't miss this weekends events. The Women's event in particular should be a very close run thing. The course is terrific and should be very good for tv coverage, unlike the usual courses where it is just trees and tracks. I'm there all this week as a volunteer and the contenders are terrific, stopping and chatting to us whilst they consider different options for the technical bits. Even the Women's Olympic Champ, Sabine Spitz was happy to chat and pose for pics at the end of the day. I might even have to give the dark side a try and dig out my old mountain bike.
