After having been dropped like a radioactive turd by Little Brown I've found someone JUST LIKE ME - not only can I work with her, but have a lot of fun with her, and we know how much I like THAT - to publish my book.  What's that you say?  Stirling Publishing's Tabatha Stirling also goes under the name “Miss Britannia” when posting racist, anti-semitic and homophobic arse-gravy on the Intertubes?  Oh.  My name's Julie Burchill and I'm a Super-Twat!

I see that one of the thread's regulars has just won an Ofcom award for being a colossal bellend.

Would that be the colossal bellend who garnered more than 41,000 Ofcom complaints for being a colossal bellend on live television the other day?  What was his name again?  Something O'Meara?

Still, I expect Brillo can find an opening for him at his new and shiny Gammon BroadcastingTM News venture.

That is a bit special. What would the lovely Naga Munchetty say?
In related news, I stumbled across the phrase "bunting nonce" as a useful synonym for "flag shagger"

And if someone called a magic election tomorrow, they'd still win (in part because we are in an abusive relationship with a minority rule system) but there'd still be over a third of the population that would happily give them their votes.

Astra Zeneca's mark up and huge profit margin show that greed is the driver - can't imagine foreign firms such as Pfizer and Moderna doing that.

Big Pharma generally cite development costs when called upon to justify their obscene profits, but I seem to recall that a lot of the development costs for Covid, if not paid directly by governments, was certainly underwritten by the same. It’s somewhat understandable that conspiracy theories abound with respect to Big Pharma.

In this case, AZ agreed with Oxford (who effectively own the IP on the platform) to provide that vaccine at cost (there's some variability, as governments hedged and effectively bought vaccine futures).
