The party upstairs.
« on: 27 March, 2009, 12:32:25 am »
It would seem that the parents are away and there is a party going on upstairs.
Should I:-
a) Go to bed and ignore it because I was young once ?
b) Ring and ask/tell them to turn it down ?
c) Let fly with 700W (RMS) of Massive Attack to let them know that mine is louder than their's ?
d) Ring Environmental Health ?

None of the above.

Go for a bike ride!

Go upstairs and see if you can score.
It is simpler than it looks.

Why not? Some of the best riding is to be done at night.

Go up and join in, then say to them their parents mentioned there would be a party and you are there to make sure it involves drink drugs and sex...just like the parties their parents have ;)

Then bring out the video...

Massive Attack turned up to 11 seems to have done it.
Night all.

no no that's all  wrong, you go to bed ignoring them and wait with Massive Attack until they have
finished the party and wants to sleep ( about the same time you leave for work ).

Unearthly wailings and organ-juddering bass. Suburban psyops for the noughties.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with Massive Attack, but that was what you mentioned.
If you want something bad then you find a piece of music with a good bass rhythm, that really will
penetrate the walls.

Public Image (or most Jah Wobble stuff) are good for deep, repetitive bass.
It is simpler than it looks.

organ-juddering bass

That's why I chose them. The track was "Angel" from "Mezzanine".
It's the bassiest track that I own.
It worked. Young girl upstairs looked a little sheepish when I saw her yesterday.

Slightly OT..

We have a small  green area beside our house, and local kids have a habit of sitting against our wall.

Not a problem until we had a rowdy lot last year.

Playing Charlotte Church at loud volume every time they arrived was extremely effective.
