Ah go on Woolly.

Everyone else - you can still get back east without having to brave Northern trains.

Oh yes, my problem with Northern is that I could get to York via Darlo, then they'd leave me stranded. Just be easier to roll down the dale.

Go on Woolly!

I'm thinking of riding to Durham on the 15th, weather permitting, so hopefully will avoid the strike.

I'm likely to be heading in that direction as well.

I'll be to-ing and from-ing Durham I think, dependant on weather. Slow though, I'll be camping it up.

Haz holiday to use.  A pootle from York & around the Northern Moors from Monday and finish up here - what's not to like.

Better pack the fleecy underwear if for camping.

In.
I'd offer you some moral support - but I have questionable morals.

Well, that's the plan.  I'll tap y'all up just before for (local) weather advice needing SNO tires.

I'm vaguely looking at routes, too, for the onwards-from-Durham bit (I may well go for the train, but it doesn't harm to make plans!).

Anyone know what the A68 between Bellingham and Jedburgh is like?

I'm not familiar with the A68 North of Bellingham but the section between the A69 and Bellingham is very fast. Not too busy really, just fast, expect overtakes at >70.

Both roads depend on time of day really.

I've now gotten round to booking a train ticket and cycle reservation.  Arriving into Darlington at 1300 and heading up to Tan Hill from there.

Ah, Mordor Central...and a scrote's just thrown up over another traveller :sick: - but that may be Mordor effect, rather than the drink.

Oh for the countryside  ::-)

Looks like Ice Spiker Pros to me.  (I fitted Ice Spikers to my mountain bike yesterday in an attempt to ward off winter.)
