Looking at the Calendar for September there seems to be a a few gaps, so how about a wee group Perm?  I was thinking that Mr Hogg's Borders Hills 200 (starting in Peebles or Biggar) could make a nice alternative to the usual Saltire.

EDIT:

Based on the responses it looks like the 12th September is the preferred date and Cyclops is suggesting Innerleithen as a starting point, say the usual 200 time of 08:00; although, if anyone wanted to start in Peebles, the Innerleithen group could meet you there at 08:30.

I could make the 12th. My brother's getting married on the 11th and for some reason I'm expected to attend.

I've always started this ride in Innerleithen - it gets the busier roads out the way early in the morning and the last 8km from the top of Paddock Slack is all downhill
It didn't look at all like that in the photographs

I could be tempted since I've been missing recent & upcoming calendar events due to clashes with other stuff.

Never done a perm before - is this one I could use GPS validation for ?

I would be good to get you out.  I don't think I've been out with you since last season.  This perm is one that you send the usual entry, cheque and SAE to the perm organiser and they send you a routesheet and a card.  Have a look at the perm section on the AUK site.  This is the direct link to the Border Hills page:

http://www.aukweb.net/cal/perms/calsolo.php?Ride=IHO04

however, if you had the controls and route there probably wouldn't be and difficulty in riding it as a GPS perm.

I'm flexible on dates, so feel free to say when you could do it in September and I'll identify the best date.

The Border Hills, eh?

Is it hilly?  :-\
It's a bit weird, but actually quite wonderful.

I could possibly be interested.

Stymification factors though include my sons birthday (11th Sep), a sair right knee and no transport to the start.

Consider me a possible for either date.

If you're all riding on the 12th, it'd be a shame to ignore Joe Applegarth's Durham and Northumberland 200, from Houghton-le-Spring, near Sunderland.  Worth the journey!

Hrrrm could be tempted.... I'll keep an eye on this thread.

Edit: Oops just realised it will take me 2 hours to drive to the start, and we've got guests staying that weekend, so it would be a smidge rude of me.

Next step is to send off for a card from Mr Hogg (my letter went off today).  Anyone else who's interested, the more the merrier.

Ive just realised that a EH12 - Innerleithen - Biggar - Langholm - Innerleithen - EH12 DIY would be almost bang on 300k.

Time for my medicine.   :D

That looks like the dullest bike route in Christendom.  I'm surprised that they didn't just run it up the hardsholder of the M8.  Enjoy ;)

He's a bad man, don't listen to him.  It'll be ridden at a social pace and your whippet like pace on the hills will serve you well.
