Bronski, Communards & Pet Shops all brilliant. The "Smalltown Boy" video is so sad, it was a nightly feature in my favourite club back in the 80's. I saw Jimmy Somerville at Liverpool uni on his solo tour and was shocked to hear his speaking voice! (Glasgae)
The Banderas were a Communards spin off, though Caroline Buckley & Sally Herbert are both straight. One wonderful album then they vanished.
The Indigo Girls are good, if you like your rock a bit folky, I saw them play twice, as one of the few blokes in the audience that was an odd experience.
Tracy Chapman is brilliant, she is supposed to have had a relationship with Alice Walker, which gives "For My Lover" a very different meaning.
