Not fair, that's only one word!
Do not clench. It only makes it worse.

"Usual suspects"

"Bigger boat"

"Little friend"

"Phone home"

All far too easy... but I think I'm playing this game (and the books one) differently to everyone else anyway. I thought the challenge was to find two ordinary words that appear juxtaposed in the work (ie as a phrase), rather than just any two clue words or idiolect words.

Hillbilly would know never to go up against a Sicillian when death was on the line.

Feanor, go to the corner and put the dunce cap on.

You're right.

How easy is it to find a pair of words of which each, on its own, could come from pretty well anywhere, but juxtaposed they clearly identify a literary work?

So I give you

"Alarm! Alarm!"

and

"Chose life"

and

"Bella bella"
